Raven Underground Coal Project

Introduction

The Raven Coal Deposit is 80km northwest from Nanaimo, BC, and approximately 60 km southeast of the currently producing Quinsam Coal Mine and approximately 2-20 km away from previous producing mines near and south of Cumberland BC. The Raven Coal Deposit is also 2 km from the main Island Highway and the E&N Railway.

The Raven Coal Deposit covers an area of approximately 3100 hectares and holds 39,093,000 tonnes of measured and indicated and 59,004,000 tonnes of inferred coal resource (as reported by O.R. Cullingham Resource Consultants Ltd. in its NI43-101 resource report issued in 2007). The coal is classified as high volatile A Bituminous and is suitable for targeting the metallurgical coal market as a blend product or the thermal coal market. The Company completed a positive Preliminary Assessment Report on the Raven Underground Coal Project in late 2007.
